Although there is a primary goal to write and execute the most musical and creative drum arrangements possible, one also must play what is called for in different musical situations.

This also includes performing drum parts exactly the way they have been created by someone else. Every band and band member has their own personality dynamic. Playing with many different people all the time has given Kelly a keen sense for knowing how to fit in and give that much needed confidence in pressure situations.

Kelly is quickly gaining a reputation for excellent session work done in a short amount of time. He believes in spending as much personal preparation time as possible for session work and live shows but he is also able to come up with great parts and performance at little to no notice. Kelly has done many sessions and live shows sight unseen which is an excellent way to build musical instinct. He also has a cover catalogue of several hundred songs. Keeping a steady and involved practice schedule is a key component to constant improvement for the endless challenges in all genre's of music. Kelly is up for all of them.
